Note the dad in this one who mutters “That was a waste” after this kid shot the puck from his own blueline. Paul Millsap Jersey . Take that Dad! Lets finish it off with some roller hockey, where this guy scores with a rocket slap shot to tie the game up and caps it all off with a very swagtastic celly. The moral of the story here kids is that no matter the age or level of play, every once in a while one of these goals slip in. Tyler Lydon Jersey . Orlando is to begin play in the MLS for the 2015 season. Kaka, who currently plays with AC Milan, is expected to be loaned out to his home club Sao Paulo for the upcoming season before joining Orlando for next season. Wilson Chandler Jersey . The international synchronized skating competition takes place from January 31 - February 1, 2014, and features 39 teams from 10 countries, in senior, junior, and novice.NEWARK, N.J. - The New Jersey Devils know the odds are against them as they chase a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Their latest win preserved their chances. Ryan Carter scored the tiebreaking goal with 4:54 remaining to lift the Devils to a 2-1 win over the Capitals on Friday night. New Jersey jumped ahead of Washington into 10th place in the East, just three points behind eighth-place Columbus with five games remaining. "We gave ourselves a chance to stay relevant," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said. Tuomo Ruutu also scored for New Jersey, and Cory Schneider made 24 saves. "It was the best win so far this season," the Devils Jaromir Jagr said. "We showed up as a team." Alex Ovechkin scored for Washington, which lost its fifth straight. Jaroslav Halak stopped 29 shots. On the game-winner, Carter was sprung by a leading pass from Marek Zidlicky, and he snapped a shot that eluded Halak. "I saw the shot and it went in," Halak said. "Simple (as that). I dont make the save. To me it was an easy shot and I let it in." The Capitals lamented missed opportunities in the first 40 minutes that prevented them from taking control of a game that was up for grabs. "Its obviously difficult to swallow the loss. We played a good game, had a lot of Grade A chances (and) their goalie made some great saves," Capitals coach Adam Oates said. "Two goals against on the road should be enough. We just (didnt) score enough." Ovechkin opened the scoring 10:12 into the game with his 49th of the season. The sequence began with New Jersey defenceman Mark Fayne committing a defensive zone turnover. Nicklas Backstrom found the loose puck and moved it to Mikhail Grabovski, who passed it to Ovechkin for the quick shot. The goal was Ovechkins first even-strength point since Feb. 27. That was all the Capitals would get, as Schneider turned them away at every opportunity. Schneider stuffed Jason Chimera on a breakaway with 1:28 left in the first, and kept the puck out of the net during a second period flurry in which Julien Brouillette and Backstrom had chances from along the crease. "He made a good stop," Chimeera said. Dikembe Mutombo Jersey. . "If that goes in, its a 2-0 game." Oates added: "You have to give their goalie credit, he made some big saves. We had breakaways, we hit posts, we had a lot of great chances." Ruutu drew New Jersey even with 7:39 left in the second with a redirection of Eric Gelinas point shot. The goal was Ruutus eighth of the season, and his third with the Devils following the March 5 trade from the Carolina Hurricanes. Both the New Jersey and Washington power-play units were ineffective. The Devils were 0 for 5 and Washington finished 0 for 3. New Jersey lost Patrik Elias in the first period after he was ridden into a stanchion by Washingtons Tom Wilson. Elias, New Jerseys second-leading scorer with 51 points, skated seven shifts totalling 3:36. "Youre short guys and everyone is going and everyone is contributing and its a good way to win and hopefully we can build off of that," Travis Zajac said. Both teams have five games remaining this season, and essentially need to win out and hope Eastern Conference wild card-leading Detroit and Columbus and ninth-place Toronto lose their remaining games. The Red Wings lead the Devils by six points, and the Blue Jackets are three ahead of New Jersey. Washington is another point back. "Yeah, definitely," Backstrom said when asked if he thought Washington had to run the table in order to qualify for the playoffs. "I think the best chance for us is to win every game." NOTES: Washington called up D Tyson Strachan from Hershey of the AHL on Friday morning. Strachan entered the game with 24 penalty minutes in 12 NHL games this season, and 56 penalty minutes in 57 AHL games. ... New Jersey scratched Stephen Gionta, Steve Bernier, Tim Sestito, Bryce Salvador, Ryane Clowe and Jon Merril. John Erskine, Jack Hillen, Patrick Wey and Connor Carrick were the Capitals scratches. ... The Washington chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association announced right wing Joel Ward was their nominee for the Bill Masterton Trophy, awarded to the "player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey." Who says size doesnt matter? With Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Scott Darling getting his first taste of National Hockey League action this week, the focus wasnt only the feel good story of a journeyman goaltender who finally made it to the bigs with his hometown team - it was another 6-foot-6 goaltender in the NHL. Detroit Tigers Jerseys . Its no secret that the leagues been trending upwards in the size and strength of players - not to mention an all-time high with skill as well. That said, goaltenders have gone from that short fat kid who couldnt skate (so they throw him in net) to the athletic monster who is not only lean and agile, but covers a ton of square footage even before he puts the gear on. The evolution of goaltending has been spectacular. Speaking from experience, theres no doubt the position has evolved skill-wise - to the point where its the most improved position in the game over the last 20 years. But with that, the size of the goaltenders has also dramatically increased. Back in 1994, I was just starting out in the league and always considered myself a taller goalie. I was six feet tall and playing a stand-up style like most goaltenders of that generation, so we tended to look taller in the net. Growing up near Edmonton, I watched and admired Grant Fuhr (5-foot-10) and Andy Moog (5-foot-8). They werent physical giants, but I thought they were the norm of what a goaltender was built like in that era - smaller, with quick reflexes and in good goalie shape to handle the rigours of a long schedule. Thats quite a contrast to the way goalies are built today in the NHL. So far in this NHL campaign, theres been 62 goalies who have played at least in one regular season game and leading the size chart is 6-foot-7 Ben Bishop of the Tampa Bay Lightning (the tallest in the history of the game thus far). But dont forget that there are three other goalies just behind at 6-foot-6 (Devan Dubnyk, Anders Lindback and Scott Darling), another trio just behind them at 6-foot-5 (Pekka Rinne, Darcy Kuemper and Robin Lehner) and six more goalies who are 6-foot-4 (Martin Jones, Reto Berra, Steve Mason, Eddie Lack, Kari Lehtonen and Mike Smith). In fact, the average size of goalies in the NHL today is just over 6-foot-2, with the shortest goalie in the league listed at 5-foot-10 (Jhonas Enroth). Of the 62 goaltenders who have seen NHL action this season, only 19 of them are under 6-foot-2 and only four are under six feet (Dustin Tokarski, Jaroslav Halak, Anton Khudobin and Enroth). Amazingly, there are 40 goalies who are 6-foot-2 and taller - staggering numbers compared to 20 years ago when the league average of the Top 60 goalies was barely 5-foot-11. The two tallest goalies in the league were 6-foot-4 (Sean Burke and Darren Puppa) and bringing up the small side were two - thats right, two - goalies who were 5-foot-7 (Tommy Soderstrom and Freddie Braithwaite). Also, there were three at 5-foot-8 (Arturs Irbe, John Vanbiesbrouck and Moog) and five at 5-foot-9 (Mike Vernon, Glenn Healy, Chris Terreri, Jeff Reese and Wendell Young). With the average height around 5-foot-11 back in the day, the scary things is that there were 34 of 60 goalies that were under six feet. And some greats on that list included Curtis Joseph (5-foot-11), Bill Ranford (5-foot-11), Ed Belfour (5-foot-11), Mike Richter (5-foot-11), Vernon (5-foot-9) and Fuhr (5-foot-10). Thats more than half the league! There were only four others - as well as myself - who were six feet: Dominik Hasek, Kirk McLean, Wade Flaherty and Andrei Trefilov. A total of 19 goalies stood between 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-3. With the way the games trended upwards in skill and talent level, it will be interesting to see where goaltending is 20 years from now. Maybe the key will be to find a goalie whos only four feet tall and six feet wide (a-la-Charles Wangs rumoured theory), but that legendary story will be saved for another time. SIZING THEM UP 6-foot-7 (1) Ben Bishop, Tampa Bay Lightning 6-foot-6 (3) Scott Darling, Chicago Blackhawks Devan Dubnyk, Arizona Coyotes Anders Lindback, Dallas Stars 6-foot-5 (3) Darcy Kuemper, Minnesota Wild Robin Lehner, Ottawa Senators Pekka Rinne, Nashville Predators 6-foot-4 (6) Reto Berra, Colorado Avalanche Martin Jones, Los Angeles Kings Eddie Lack, Vancouver Canucks Kari Lehtonen, Dallas Stars Steve Mason, Philadelphia Flyers Mike Smith, Arizona Coyotes 6-foot-3 (9) Frederik Andersen, Anaheim Ducks John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks Michael Hutchinson, Winnipeg Jets Chad Johnson, New York Islanders Roberto Luongo, Florida Panthers Curtis McElhinney, Columbus Blue Jackets Ondrej Pavelec, Winnipeg Jets Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens Cam Talbot, New York Rangers 6-foot-2 (21) Jake Allen, St. Louis Blues Craig Anderson, Ottawa Senators Niklas Backstrom, Minnesota Wild Sergei Bobrovsky, Columbus Blue Jackets Scott Clemmensen, New Jersey Devils Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks Brian Elliott, St. Louis Blues Ray Emery, Philadelphia Flyers Marc-Andre Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins Jonas Gustavsson, Detroit Red Wings Jonas Hiller, Calgary Flames Braden Holtby, Washington Capitals Ryan Miller, Vancouver Canucks Al Montoya, Florida Panthers Antti Niemi, San Jose Sharks Karri Ramo, Calgary Flames Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins James Reimer, Toronto Maple Leafs Cory Schneider, New Jersey Devils Ben Scrivens, Edmonton Oilers Semyon Varlamov, Colorado Avalanche 6-foot-1 (9) Thomas Greiss, Pittsburgh Penguins Jimmy Howard, Detroit Red Wings Carter Hutton, Nashville Predators Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers Michal Neuvirth, Buffalo Sabres Justin Peters, Washington Capitals Calvin Pickard, Colorado Avalanche Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings Cam Ward, Carolina Hurricanes 6-foot-0 (6) Jonathan Bernier, Toronto Maple Leafs Viktor Fasth, Edmonton Oilers Jamie McLennan, Five NHL teams Evgeni Nabokov, New York Islanders Antti Raanta, Chicago Blackhawks Alex Stalock, San Jose Sharks Niklas Svedberg, Boston Bruins 5-foot-11 (3) Jaroslav Halak, New York Islanders Anton Khudobin, Carolina Hurricanes Dustin Tokarski, Montreal Canadiens 5-foot-10 (1) Jhonas Enroth, Buffalo Sabres Michael Fulmer Jersey . Snedekers best result so far this year is a tie for eighth place at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. He sits 113th in FedEx Cup standings and has dropped to 31st in world rankings — not the results expected from a player ranked fourth in the world only two years ago. Omar Infante Jersey .C. -- Tony Stewart will not race Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, the third Sprint Cup race hes skipped since his car struck and killed Kevin Ward Jr.PARIS -- Monaco showed little sign of missing star striker Radamel Falcao as it beat Rennes 2-0, while 10-man Lille won 1-0 at Valenciennes as both winners kept up the pressure on French league leader Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday. James Rodriguez curled in a free kick in the 19th minute to give Monaco the lead after the Colombia forward was tripped by Cheikh MBengue. Anthony Martial was handed his first league start in place of the injured Falcao and the 17-year-old forward scored on the stroke of halftime, exchanging passes with Emmanuel Riviere just inside the area before firing into the bottom right corner. Rennes almost got one back 12 minutes from time but Tiemoue Bakayokos effort crashed off the right upright. Monaco remained a point behind Lille but is provisionally two points behind defending champion PSG, which hosts Lyon on Sunday. "I am very happy," Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri said. "The team was very focused, and dealt very well with Rennes counterattacks. Our aim is to qualify for the Champions League. But if Paris loses its rhythm, I want Monaco to be there. "(Martial) had a very good match. I have the experience to know when it is the best moment to give a player his debut. With a lot of champions around him, he can learn a lot here. He has the skills to become a great player, the potential to have a great career." Halftime substitute Ronny Rodelin scored the only goal of the game, two minutes after going onto the field. Pape Souare crossed to the far post where Rodelin was waiting to send a strike into the bottom left corner with his first touch. Lille was forced to play almost the entire second half with 10 men after Franck Beria was seent off following a second booking in the 53rd but goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama managed to keep a 10th successive clean sheet, stretching the time he has not conceded a goal to 945 minutes, The Nigerian is just short of PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigus second-best mark of 948 from last season. Victor Martinez Jersey. Valenciennes remained rooted in the bottom three. Lorient won 3-0 to hand Nice its fifth defeat in a row. Kevin Monnet-Paquet opened the scoring in the 17th minute and Vincent Aboubakar almost doubled Lorients lead two minutes later but his header crashed off the post. Nice defender Jordan Amavi turned the ball into his own net in the 71st and Aboubakar sealed the result in stoppage time. Toulouse ended a run of four matches without a win as Wissam Ben Yedder scored a hat trick to help his team to a convincing 5-1 victory over bottom club Sochaux. Sochaux goalkeeper Simon Pouplin and defender Lionel Zouma both scored own goals. Cedric Bakambu had a goal harshly ruled out for offside for the visitors. Elsewhere, Guingamp beat Nantes 1-0 thanks to a 63rd-minute header from Younousse Sankhare. Saint-Etienne eased to a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Reims. After a goalless first half in which both teams struggled to get shots on target, Bayal Sall broke the deadlock shortly after the hour mark, heading home Romain Hamoumas corner. Saint-Etienne doubled its lead in the 76th minute when Loic Perrin headed in Yohan Mollos free kick, and the captain added a second two minutes later. Reims goalkeeper Kossi Agassa managed to parry Salls header but Perrin headed in the rebound. Mevlut Erding added a fourth three minutes from time as Saint-Etienne moved provisionally fifth. Murrays march to the final of the Paris Masters, coupled with Novak Djokovics quarter-final exit to Marin Cilic, means the 29-year-old will take over from the Serb at the top of the world rankings on Monday. And Sky Sports tennis expert Petchey, who coached Murray during the early stages of the Scots career, says the three-time Grand Slam winner is finally being rewarded for years of hard work.  Andy Murray says hes proud after becoming the world number one, replacing Novak Djokovic after 122 weeks For me its his greatest ever achievement, Petchey told Sky Sports News HQ. Its a lifetime of work for his finest hour. There is so much that goes into being world No 1 anyway, but also at this stage of his career at 29, the fact he has just been behind Novak, Roger [Federer] and Rafa [Nadal] throughout the course of his career, to finally get to the summit of mens tennis underlines just how much Andy is willing to sacrifice and persevere and be patient. Live Tennis: ATP World Tour Finals November 13, 2016, 12:00pm Live on Get Sky Sports Get a Sky Sports pass All those ingredients go in, which is why for me it is his greatest achievement.Petchey is confident Murray will not rest now he is at the summit. The one thing about Andy is he will never relax, Petchey added. He always wants to get better and better and thats why hes become such a great champion.  Murray won Wimbledon for a second time in the summer Speaking to his coach Jamie Delgado, after Wimbledon they went doown to the Nadal Academy and his team were just blown away by the work ethic that he put into the training sessions there, after winning Wimbledon. Hank Aaron Jersey. . That is the reason why this week we see him as world No 1, because there was no let down, he went straight back and worked.Petchey also believes the duel between Murray and Djokovic ensures an exciting end to the season, with both players battling to finish the year as the worlds best player. Novak Djokovic says Andy Murray deserves to become the world number one after raising his level in the last year The fact that the world No 1 is on the line for the World Tour finals is great and will be a spur for both players to produce their best tennis in the next couple of weeks, Petchey added. For Andy, to finish the year as world No 1 is a big deal. Lots of players have won a Grand Slam but failed to get to get No 1 at any stage of their career; there are even fewer players that have ended up year-end No 1 and for Andy to be able to achieve that will be enough of a drive for him continue this fantastic run. Murrays next aim is to end the year as world No 1 When he was 18, he didnt love the hard work. He always loved to play tennis, but now, he loves to work hard physically. He would have had a good career, he was that talented, but he wouldnt have become unique without investing in that hard work and growing on a daily basis to love it. Now hes arguably the hardest worker mens tennis has ever seen.Check our game-by-game updates from Andy Murray v John Isner from the ATP Paris Masters final and then follow his progress at the ATP World Tour Finals from London skysports.com/tennis, our app for mobile devices and iPad and our Twitter account @skysportstennis. Eight-time champion Rafael Nadal, last years runner-up David Ferrer and Wimbledon titlist Andy Murray were a trio of fourth-round winners Monday at the French Open. Nelson Semedo Jersey . The world No. 1 Nadal improved to a remarkable 63-1 lifetime at Roland Garros by crushing Serb Dusan Lajovic 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 on Court Chatrier. The lopsided affair saw the ruthless Spanish great assume set leads of 5-0, 4-0 and 5-0 on Day 9 of the clay court fortnight. "I played with no mistakes and having the control with the backhand, with the forehand from the baseline," Nadal said. "Sure, you never know whats better, but in theory, the theory says that its better win like this than win longer matches." The 13-time major champion Nadal is trying to become the first man to capture five straight French Open championships. Music superstar Prince was in attendance Monday, nearly hidden in the stands, sitting in the very back row of the presidential box at Chatrier clutching a shiny cane. When the Nadal match ended, Prince rose to leave then paused and paid his respects by applauding. The fifth-seeded Ferrer, meanwhile, had a hiccup in the fourth set in an otherwise routine 6-3, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 victory over 19th-seeded former University of Illinois standout Kevin Anderson of South Africa. Ferrer will now appear in his 10th straight Grand Slam quarterfinal. He reached his first and only Grand Slam final here a year ago before getting whipped by his fellow countryman Nadal in an all-Spanish title tilt. The two will meet in a rematch of that match in a quarterfinal on Wednesday. Nadal, who will turn 28 on Tuesday, is 21-6 lifetime against the 32-year-old Ferrer, including 3-0 at Roland Garros. Ferrer, however, upset Nadal on some red clay in Monte Carlo back in April. "I look forward to playing against David (Ferrer), it is going to be a very difficult match," said Nadal. The seventh-seeded Murray, seeking a trip into only his second-ever French Open semifinal, humbled 24th-seeded Spanish left-hander Fernando Verdasco 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) on Court Lenglen. The British star improved to 10-1 lifetime against the hard-hitting Verdasco in reaching his 13th straight Grand Slam quarterfinal. Murrays quarterfinal opponent will be 23rd-seeded French crowd favorite Gael Monfils, who cruised past Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, 6-0, 6-2, 7-5. The 2008 semifinalist Monfils is now into his fourth career Roland Garros quarter. The quarterfinals will commence Tuesday when second-seeded 2012 runner-up Novak Djokovic takes on eighth-seeded Canadian Milos Raonic and sixth-seeded Tomas Berdych encounters 18th-seeded Latvian Ernests Gulbis. The former world No. 1 and six-time major champion Djokovic still needs a French Open title to complete a career Grand Slam. Lucas Digne Jersey .ca. With longtime friend and Mets chief executive officer Fred Wilpon sitting in the second row of the news conference room at Citi Field, Selig said he has no problem with the big-market team operating with an opening-day payroll that ranked 21st among the 30 teams and has drawn the ire of many of the clubs fans. "From my perspective, I think that the way the Mets are doing this thing is correct," Selig said Tuesday on his 20th stop of his goodbye trip before he is replaced by Rob Manfred on Jan. 25. New Yorks opening day payroll of $93 million is almost $60 million lower than it was in 2008, according to Major League Baseball figures. The high payrolls were before Bernard Madoffs Ponzi scheme was uncovered, throwing the Mets into financial distress. When asked why the Mets got a pass from the commissioners office while then-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers Frank McCourt was forced to sell his team because of financial improprieties, Selig vigorously defended New Yorks actions. "As far as Im concerned, Ive said this in the past and Ill say it again: I dont have any problem with the Mets financing, with whats going on, as far as all of our economic rules, and we have a myriad of them," Selig said. Custom Barcelona Jerseys. "Theyre in compliance with them and doing fine." With the Mets headed for their sixth straight losing season and eighth without a playoff appearance, Selig defended New Yorks rebuilding process. The team has developed an impressive stable of young pitchers, including Matt Harvey and Jacob deGromm. Selig compared New Yorks approach to that of the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs, two organizations the former Milwaukee Brewers owner is impressed with. He said the Cardinals, who won World Series championships in 2006 and 2011, have had great success without "drunken-sailor" spending. Selig also side-stepped commenting on a lawsuit filed last week against the Mets and chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon, Freds son, who was accused of illegal retaliation and discrimination. "Thats employment litigation. There were a lot of charges there. Jeff denies them vigorously," Selig said. "I think in this particular case theyre going to court, and were just going to have to see how it plays out." Selig refused to discuss the situation of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, facing criticism for his handling of a domestic violence case against one of the leagues players. The 2014 NBA Draft will be a historic one for Canadian basketball, with as many as seven players from Canada - three of them as high as the first round - possibly selected. Martinas Rankin Texans Jersey . In the days leading up to the draft, TSN.ca and TSN Radio basketball analyst Duane Watson looks at some of the names that will be headlining the event. Watch the 2014 NBA Draft on TSN, Thursday at 7pm et/4pm pt. Name: Khem BirchFrom: Montreal, QuebecPlayed: University of Nevada, Las VegasHeight: 69"Weight: 209 Position: Power Forward2013-2014 Stats: 11.5 points per game, 10.2 rebounds, 3.8 blocks Breakout Game: 15 points, 15 rebounds, 6 blocks assists in win vs. Boise State on Feb 1.Accolades: 2013-14 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, finished second in the nation in blocked shots per game.Draft Projection: Mid-late second round.Comparable NBA player: Chris Andersen Khem Birchs young basketball career has already been fuelled by some interesting decisions. Birch entered the NCAA ranks as the 11th-best high school player in the United States, and accepted a scholarship with the University of Pittsburgh. However, the Montreal native controversially left Pitt only 10 games into his freshman season. At the point of his departure, he earned a spot in the starting line up and showed glimpses of the defence and athleticism that made him a blue chip prospect. Yet after citing team issues of selfishness, he returned home to figure out his next move, which would eventually lead him to transfer to UNLV. Birch played two seasons at UNLV, his first coinciding with Toronto native Anthony Bennetts standout freshman campaign that culminated in his first overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Bennett outshined Birch with his dominant play and impressive stat line, yet Birch was named Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year. This season with Bennett out of the picture, Birch almost doubled his scoring (7.5 ppg to 11.5 ppg) and rebounding (5.7 rpg to 10.2 rpg) averaging a double-double, and again winning Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year honours. Despite improvement across the board Birch is very much a raw athlete, and instead of spending another year at school to work on his offensive game, he declared for the 2014 NBA Draft. Birchs strength is his defence. His 71" wingspan placed him second in the NCAA in blocked shots behind fellow Canadian Jordan Bachynski at a clip of 3.8 per game. His quickness and mobility make him a strong rim protector and help defender where his tenacity on defence cant be overlooked, tallying 1.2 steals per game. Offensively, he can run the floor and moves well without the ball, but is very limited in terms of offensive moves. His inability to create his own shot, coupled with his slight build will make it hard for him to maintain position in the low post. Quite simply, Birch will have to bulk up, which will help him on the defensive end as well. A great athlete with a high motor equals lots of upside, yet hes still a project. If an NBA team wants to develop him and help round out his game, its not a risk, but a long-term investment. It would be an interesting choice, however thats something that Birch is not averse to. Jordan Akins Jersey . You can watch the game live on TSN2 and TSN Mobile TV at 9pm et/6pm pt. Jonathan Huberdeau and Quinton Howden are expected to make their debuts for Team Canada. Aaron Colvin Texans Jersey .com) - John Wall supplied 24 points and 11 assists in leading the Washington Wizards to a 102-91 win over the New York Knicks on Christmas Day.ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Rays arent wary of Kevin Cashs age and inexperience. The team tabbed the former Cleveland Indians bullpen coach as Joe Maddons replacement on Friday, selecting him over ex-Seattle Mariners manager and current Kansas City Royals bench coach Don Wakamatsu. The Tampa native who turns 37 on Saturday has no previous managerial experience, yet the Rays are confident he has what it takes to be successful. It came down to the energy, the poise that he has, the confidence, but the open-mindedness that goes along with it. Thats a rare combination to have in an individual, president of baseball operations Matt Silverman said.Cash wowed the team during a final interview that lasted half-a-day. He becomes the youngest active manager in the majors, taking over a team that made the playoffs four of the past seven seasons under Maddon. After 12 hours we were pretty drained and it felt like Kevin was just getting started, Silverman said.A former catcher who played with five major league teams, including 13 games for Tampa Bay in 2005, Cash served as Terry Franconas bullpen coach in Cleveland the past two seasons. He also interviewed recently for the vacant managerial position with the Texas Rangers. He thought that experience helped when the Rays included him on an initial list of 10 candidates. It wasnt something I was anticipating at this stage. But as I started preparing for the Texas opportunity, I almost kind of gained momentum, gained some confidence, Cash said. I was able to really process some thoughts.Tampa Bay went 754-705 in nine seasons under Maddon, making the playoffs four times, winning two AL East championships and the 2008 AL pennant — all while operating under the constraints of one of baseballs lowest payrolls. The Rays finished 77-85 this year, ending a stretch of six consecutive winning seasons. Maddon was under contract through 2015, but exercised an option to leave when talks on a new deal broke down and joined the Chicago Cubs. The voice is obviously probably going to change a little bit, but the players and the personnel, and the culture, what they created, that is something that Im extremely fortunate to be a part of and join in onn, Cash said. Custom Houston Texans Jerseys. The new manager inherits a roster driven by one of the best pitching staffs in the American League. Most of his coaching staff will be comprised of holdovers from Maddons reign. When it got down to it, the security of our situation with our staff in place, and the clubhouse culture that we have, gave us more comfort, Silverman said. But, you look at Kevin, his baseball age is much older than his 37 years on this planet, Silverman added. Hes been a student of the game, and that transition to manager is one we think will be a relatively (smooth) one, one made easier by the environment that we already have here.Maddon opted out of his contract on Oct. 24 and was hired to manage the Cubs.Rays principal owner Stuart Sternberg said Cashs energy and dynamic personality will fit seamlessly with our clubhouse.Wakamatsu was the only candidate among the finalists with prior managerial experience at any level, having gone 127-147 in one-plus season as the Mariners skipper in 2009 and 2010.Veteran outfielder Raul Ibanez, still an active player after spending his 19th big league season with Kansas City and the Los Angeles Angels, was the third finalist. He withdrew his name from consideration this week.A Tampa native, Cash is not a stranger to the AL East after playing all but 20 games of an eight-year big league career with the Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Houston Astros and Rays. Before joining the Indians in 2013, Cash spent one season as a major league advance scout for the Blue Jays.Silverman said it was a tough decision between Cash and Wakamatsu, who has spent 10 seasons as a bench coach with the Royals, Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers.Wakamatsu took over a team that lost 101 games and led Seattle to an 85-77 record in 2009. He fired in August of the following season, when the Mariners stumbled to a 42-70 start.Former Rays bench coach Dave Martinez, one-time Indians manager Manny Acta, Hall of Famer Barry Larkin, San Francisco Giants bench coach Ron Wotus, Rays minor league manager Charlie Montoyo and ex-major league players Craig Counsell and Doug Glanville rounded out a list 10 initial candidates. TORONTO - Andrea Bargnani meant everything to this Raptors franchise once. Ricky Rubio Jersey . Drafted first overall in 2006, he was once the source of hope for an ailing fan base. A mysterious 21-year-old from Italy, he possessed the unique skill set required to become a special player in a league obsessed with upside. A seven-footer who could shoot and put the ball on the floor, he had more upside than he knew what to do with. As silly as it seemed then to compare a player with no NBA experience, a player most knew nothing - or next to nothing - about to a future hall of famer and soon-to-be MVP, that stopped (almost) no one from doing just that. He was supposed to be the next Dirk Nowitzki. Bargnani meant everything to his former team until, gradually over seven years laden with false hope and hurt feelings, he meant nothing. "I dont know what it was," said Dwane Casey, Bargnanis coach for two of his seven seasons in Toronto, looking back at the tarnished relationship between fans and the former first-overall pick. "I thought Andrea needed a fresh start." One exhibition game into that fresh start, Bargnani will make his first return to the Air Canada Centre on Friday, three months after the trade that sent him to New York. Catch the game live on TSN Radio 1050 starting at 7pm et. "We have no ill feelings for Andrea," Casey acknowledged Thursday afternoon following practice. "For him personally and as a friend Im glad to see him not have to go through some of the things he went through here." Plagued by injuries and a perceived lack of effort, Bargnani experienced far more lows than highs in Toronto and as a result many fans began to sour on a player they once celebrated, however briefly. In seven seasons, Bargnani averaged 15.2 points and 4.8 rebounds, shooting 44 per cent from the field and 36 per cent from three-point range. Over his final two seasons as a Raptor he missed more games (82) than he played in (66) and saw his scoring average fall from a career-best 21.4 in 2010-11 - his first as the offensive focal point, sans Chris Bosh - to just 12.7 last year. By midseason and to the dismay of Casey and several vocal Raptors players, Bargnani was routinely booed by the home crowd. "You hate to see somebody on your team go through something like that," reiterated DeMar DeRozan, a teammate of Bargnanis for the past four seasons. "Just the [negative] energy, it can do a lot mentally to a player. We tried to keep him up, in good spirits all season but it was tough on him." Although Fridays game - the first of two preseason visits to Toronto for Bargnani and the Knicks - wont count towards the standings, the atmosphere in the ACC could resemble the return of past Raptors-turned-Raptor villains. "They can boo him all they want to now," Casey joked. "Fans are going to do what theyre going to do and so he should probably put on ear plugs." Bargnanis return will likely be the latest in a long line of former Raptors to be welcomed back with a chorus of boos and jeers from the ACC faithful. When beloved point guard Jose Calderon made his return to a standing ovation in April, Pistons head coach Lawrence Frank (now an assistant with the Nets) alluded to the Toronto franchises long history of hostile homecomings. It all started with Damon Stoudamire, who scored 22 points in 2000 returning with the Blazers two years after forcing a trade out of Toronto. Tracy McGrady poured in 24 points in his first game back a year later, followed by 39 points from Vince Carter in 2005 and 25 from Bosh in 2011. For what its worth, Hedo Turkoglu was held to 11 in his return, but that should surprise no one. Soon Bargnani will join that group, matching Boshs seven seasons as the longest tenured but unlike most of that list, who achieved some individual and/or team success here (Turkoglu being the obvious exception), his Raptors legacy will leave a predominately bitter taste in the mouths of Raptors fans. He wont be remembered as a 20-point scorer. He wont be remembered for finishing second, behind only Brandon Roy in Rookie of the Year voting. No, instead hell be remembered for his declining shooting percentages, his modest rebounding numbers, his laissez-faire attitude, the injuries, the general manager who blindly stood by him until the end and a Primo pasta ad that will forever be ingrained into our hearts. Most of all hell be remembered for what he failed to become. "I didnt get out of him what [I] was hoping for," Casey admitted Thursday; not the first and likely not the last coach to come to that realization. "I wanted him to be Dirk-like." Dante Exum Jersey .  Go to turbozone.ca to see more of his epic work and you can follow him on twitter (@Turbo_Zone). Gaurav Shastri - A tribute to the amazing fan base who stand outside during games at "Jurassic Park" and an unbelievable shot of Paul Pierce fearing a Raptor. Jeff Hornacek Jersey . Thats 14 consecutive losses to the two-time defending champs, and most of them were over before they even began. TEMPE, Ariz. Ito Smith Falcons Jersey . -- Arizona coach Bruce Arians says there "were obviously very, very many problems" with the officiating in the Cardinals 24-21 loss at Philadelphia. Of particular concern were three plays near the end of the game. One was a holding call on safety Tyrann Mathieu that negated Patrick Petersons interception. Another was a holding call on linebacker Matt Shaughnessy on the Eagles final possession. A third was a no-call when the Cardinals felt there was pass interference on a fourth-down incompletion to Michael Floyd the last time Arizona had the ball. Asked if he felt the calls will cost the Cardinals a playoff spot, Arians said, "It possibly could, but I think a lot of things have to happen here in the last four weeks. I would hope that we give up all that talk this week and just focus on the St. Louis Rams." The Cardinals (7-5) are home against the Rams next Sunday. Arians said he sent "about 15 plays" to the NFL for review by Dean Blandino, the NFLs vice-president of officiating. "The proper channels have been followed," the Arizona coach said, "and obviously there were very, very many problems" with the officiating. Arians said Blandino "does a great job. Hes very honest with it. Ive already gotten most of the answers. I got them before I left the locker room yesterday." Arians declined to share what he was told, but asked if he gets any satisfaction from those answers, he said, "No, I just get madder." The Cardinals had rallied from a 24-7 deficit to cut the Philadelphia lead to 24-21 when Peterson intercepted Nick Foles pass at the Eagles 43 with four minutes to play. But Mathieu was called for holding on the play. It would have been the first interception Foles has thrown this season. Arians said "theres no doubt in my mind" that the Cardinals would have scored had Petersons interception stood. "We (had) just put a good drive together," Arians said, "and only needed 10 yards for a field goal to tie it." The Cardinals did get the ball back at their 10-yard line with 2:03 to play. But on third-and-five from the 15, Carson Palmer missed an open Andre Roberts, then on fourth down, Palmers pass to Floyd was incomplete. The Eagles took over on downs and, on third-and-four from the 9, Shaughnessy tackled Foles for a loss but was called for holding, giving Philadelphia a first down and the ability to run out the clock. "He (the Philadelphia player) was blocking Matt on a bootleg play," Arians said. "Matt threw him to the ground and sacked the quarterback. ... It happens every time a guy tries to block you and you sack the quarterback. It was one of those problems (with the officiating)." Thats the way Shaughnessy saw it, too. "He was blocking down on me, and I was fighting the pressure, pushing him outside and he tried to release," Shaughnessy said. "I threw him down and then I went after the quarterback. I thought it was a sack." Linebacker Daryl Washington drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for complaining vehemently about the call. Mathieu avoided any complaints about the call against him when he spoke to reporters on Monday. After the game Sunday, the Arizona rookie said he thought "it was a good play. I was just trying to be a good defensive back and was trying to get a good jam on him." Even if mistakes are acknowledged by the crew headed by referee Tony Corrente, nothing can be done about it now. "As long as everybody owns up to it, you move on," Arians said. "Its part of the game. Were here working our tails off this week. Those guys (the officials) are back at their other jobs." Officiating aside, Arians said the Cardinals, who fell a game behind San Francisco for the final NFC wild card spot, made too many mistakes early against the Eagles and regressed after a four-game winning streak. He said the team cant afford to dwell on what happened in Philadelphia. Going into the game against St. Louis, Arizona has lost eight straight against NFC West foes, including three this year. "If were ever going to do anything, we better start winning our division," Arians said. "Thats our only focus this week.
